Working together

Service terms

Key principles for agreeing the scope of consultancy work.

Agreed scope

Before work begins, the parties should confirm the service, deliverables, information required, visit arrangements and any limitations in writing.

Fees and additional work

Published prices are indicative starting prices. The agreed proposal should confirm charges, payment terms, travel or other additional expenses, and how changes to scope will be handled.

Advice and client responsibilities

Advice is based on the agreed scope and the information available at the time. The client remains responsible for its legal duties, management decisions and implementing suitable controls. No consultancy arrangement can guarantee that every risk will be identified or every incident prevented.

Competence and scope boundaries

Work should be accepted only where the requirements are understood and the assignment is appropriate to the consultant's competence and experience. Requests outside the agreed scope may need a separate proposal or referral.

Final contract

The final signed engagement terms and proposal should take precedence over this draft website wording. Add the final approved terms and effective date before using this page as a contractual document.
